What to Think

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Let Peace Rule

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:15 KJV

What struck me most profoundly about this verse that I have read and quoted many times over the years is the first two words “and let”. In other words allow peace to rule. I can also say “choose” to have peace.

This is powerful because so many times in many of our situations you feel as if you have no choice, you have no control over what is happening you. That you have no control over how you feel about situations, and yet this verse says “and let peace rule”. So you may have to do is I did on today and pray the scripture. You may have to say to God “Lord I trust you 100% in this situation. I trust you to be in control. I trust you to take care of things, to take care of me. And because I trust you I am going to rest in your promise that you will take care of me. And as I rest in this promise Lord I accept your peace. And as I went throughout the day whenever I began to focus on the negative in the situation, I would say Lord I trust you 100% to take care of me in this situation and I choose your peace. Throughout the day I would say Lord I choose your peace. I choose your peace over worry, over anxiety, over my inability. I choose your peace, that peace that passes all understanding.

Light for my Path

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 119:105 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.119.105.KJV

There are times I may not know which direction to go; which choice to make, and yet if I read the Word of God – meditate upon it; ask God to speak to my heart, his Word will shine a light on the direction that I should go.

The scripture says thy Word is a lamp unto my feet. A lamp is a source of light – a source of illumination that prevents the darkness from covering my path. So I can see the direction that I need to go. God’s Word is such a huge light that I don’t have to stumble over obstacles in my path.

If I will only go to the Word of God, study it, meditate on it, and let him speak to my heart, I would be able to see how I should move and what direction I should choose.

Let God’s Word light your path so that you can avoid many obstacles along the way.
